3. I Agree to:

1. I agree to carry out my task as a Special Religious Education [SRE] teacher or Helper in accordance with the principles and policies of the Presbyterian Church of Australia in the State of New South Wales, as well as the Special Religious Education Procedures and associated policies of the NSW Department of Education.
2.  I undertake to exercise due care for the safety and behaviour of the students when teaching or supervising them. The teaching or assistance given to students in the SRE classroom shall at all times be of the highest quality possible.
3. I acknowledge that the Presbyterian Church of Australia in the State of New South Wales has special responsibilities to students, their parents and carers and to the school authorities because of the opportunities given to the Presbyterian Church of Australia in the State of New South Wales to instruct students in SRE.
4. I provide my services on as a SRE Teacher or Helper to the Presbyterian Church of Australia in the State of New South Wales and I acknowledge that I am responsible to my authorising agent, which is the session of the pastoral charge.
5. I understand that my authorising agent can terminate my engagement if I fail to meet my commitments as set out here and I agree that upon termination I will promptly deliver my Authorisation Card to my authorising agent.
6. I agree that if any complaint of sexual misconduct is made against me, my authorising agent may suspend my engagement immediately until such time as the matter is resolved.
7. I agree that the information on this form will be provided to PYNSW, DoE and SRE Coordinator for SRE authorisation.
8. I agree to only use an authorised, age appropriate SRE curriculum as shown on the PYNSW website.
9. I agree to carry out my task as an SRE Teacher or Helper in accordance with the conditions listed here. If I am authorised as a SRE Helper, I will always be under the direct supervision of an authorised SRE Teacher when I am in a school.
10. I understand that I must have a Working with Children Check clearance which will be verified by the Conduct Protocol Unit.
11. I will complete the SRE Accreditation Training as required by the Presbyterian Church of Australia in the State of New South Wales.
12. I will complete the Breaking the Silence Basic Training and will complete yearly updates as required by the Presbyterian Church of Australia in the State of New South Wales.
13. If I become a subject of any allegations and/or charges of a criminal matter, court proceedings and/or incur a conviction, I will promptly notify Presbyterian Youth who will then contact the Department of Education (as per DoE policy).
